Financial Education Scholarship

$5,000 for Higher Education from Copper State CU

Copper State Credit Union will award several scholarships in the amount of $5,000 to high school seniors or individuals completing a GED in their quest for higher education. The scholarship award is based on several factors, including school and community involvement, participation in financial wellness courses and more. Scholarship application window opens September 5, 2025.

Eligibility

 1. The applicant must have received or be on track to receive their high school diploma or GED certificate between January 2024 and May 2026.

 2. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required for high school students. 

 3. The applicant must be accepted and begin as a full-time student at a college or technical school in the United States within one calendar year.

Requirements

1. Applicants must complete four financial education simulation games listed below. 

2. Applicants must become a credit union member and complete all application requirements by April 30, 2026.

Scholarship applications will be reviewed and winners selected by June 30, 2026. The Selection Committee will be made up of the following: Copper State Credit Union employees, leadership team and board of directors. The Selection Committee’s decisions are final. Scholarship funds awarded will be payable for tuition, and will be made payable to the college or technical school by Copper State Credit Union. Winners agree to allow Copper State Credit Union to use their name and photo in various marketing methods at their sole discretion. Completed application form, required financial course completion, and all supporting materials must be received by no later than 5:00 PM on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Copper State Credit Union will not be responsible for lost, delayed, or misdirected mail. Failure to follow all instructions may result in your application being disqualified. Membership is required.
