Mechanical Repair Coverage (MRC)⁵ helps protect drivers from unexpected vehicle repair costs. It cover repairs made by a mechanic for things like engine, transmission and electrical system failures.

Vehicle Loan Insurance Requirements

Vehicle insurance is not only a smart way to protect you in the event of an accident, it's required when you have a loan (or lien) on your vehicle.

Copper State Credit Union must be listed as the lienholder/loss payee on your policy. The address you should use on the policy is:

Your insurance policy must include:

Evidence of having comprehensive and collision coverage on your vehicle
Your deductible must not exceed $1,000
The collateral description on the policy must match the collateral on the loan document

You must provide us with the policy number, policy period, and insurance company name.

You can fax an updated declaration pages to 1.877.831.1176 or submit them online.

What is an Auto Loan Refinance?: An auto refinance is the process of applying for a new auto loan to pay off your existing auto loan. If your credit score has improved or if interest rates have gone down since you first financed your car, refinancing your auto loan could lower your monthly payment and save you thousands of dollars over the life of your loan.

Can I apply for an Auto Loan if I have not found the car I want yet?: Yes! We recommend applying for a loan before you start shopping, so you know exactly how much you are approved for before heading to the dealership.

How can I make my loan payment?

You can make fast loan payments online to Copper State Credit Union with a checking or savings account from another financial institution.

Do you have different rates for new and used vehicles?: No, the rate is the same for both new and used vehicles.

How do I add a bank account from another institution?

First, make sure you're enrolled in Online Banking! Then, download our mobile app.

If logging in from a computer:
1. Once logged in, hover over the Transfer tab then click +External account.
2. Choose how you wish to receive the verification code.
3. Verify the verification code you received.
4. Add your external account.

On our mobile app:
1. Once logged in, click the 3 lines in the top left corner and select Transfers.
2. Click on the section that reads "Transfer to other institutions by adding an external transfer account".
3. Click + Add external account.
4. Verify the verification code you received.
4. Add your external account.

Once submitted, the verification process will begin. To verify the account, we send two small deposits which take approximately 2-3 business days to arrive. Once you receive the trial deposits, you need to log back in to your Copper State CU online banking, click confirm on the pending account and enter in the deposit amounts. After this is confirmed, you'll be able to transfer to and from your external accounts.
